Rita S. Traut

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Rita S. Traut, age 82 formerly of Sartell, Wayzata and Howard Lake will be at 11 am on Friday, October 2, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Rita died on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009. The Rev. Lauren Germann will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call between 4-8 pm on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 and after 10 am Friday at the Gathering Space at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Parish prayers will be at 7 pm on Thursday at the Gathering Space in Sartell. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, Sartell, MN.

Rita was born on September 11, 1927 in St. Cloud, MN to Paul and Catherine (Kremer) Kruchten. She married Bernard “Barney” Traut on June 28, 1948 in Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She lived in LeSauk Township, Stearns County until 1966 when she moved to Wayzata. She moved to Howard Lake in 1973.

Rita will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul whose warmth will be truly missed by those who knew her.

Survivors include her children: Mary (Quentin) Alberg of Buffalo, Bernard (Lorraine) of Rockford, Ruth Penny of Maple Grove, Richard of Maple Grove and Theresa Traut (Jeff Bush) of Mtka; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Leander Kruchten of Sartell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Verda Traut.
