I will never forget the day you took us to Belmont Park while you were on leave in the early 70’s. And all the good times with the Olmscheid’s in San Diego! I will miss you. Rest in Peace

Norbert J. "Norb" Olmscheid
January 4, 1953 – April 21, 2023
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park, MN for Norbert J. “Norb” Olmscheid, age 70, of St. Cloud. Norb died April 21 at the St. Cloud Hospital after being struck by a motor vehicle. Entombment will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls with full military honors.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and will continue after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Parish Prayers will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Norb was born January 4, 1953 in Melrose, MN to Gilbert and Dorothy (Spanier) Olmscheid. After graduating from Melrose High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1975. He lived in California until 1989 when he returned to St. Cloud, Minnesota
Norb enjoyed family gatherings volleyball, fishing, sports, music concerts, biking, walking and playing cards with family and friends.
Norb is survived by his siblings Barb (Lenny) Gillitzer of St. Cloud, Dan (Bea) of St. Martin, Betty (Don) Roelike of Belgrade, Robert (Mary) of Foley, brother-in-law Joe Korte of St. Cloud and 12 nieces and nephews.
Preceding Norb in death were his parents, brothers Fred “Doobie” and David, sister Debbie Korte and infant sister Mary.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
