Marie Amelia (Voss) Krupke was born March 27, 1915 in Eden Lake Township, Stearns County, MN to Fred and Matilda (Schoenleben) Voss. Marie lived on the family farm and attended District 43 school and Paynesville High School. Marie met Wallace Krupke, they courted, and then married on March 25, 1937 at Zion Church in rural Paynesville. They lived on their farm at the west end of Paynesville and were engaged in farming as well as many other endeavors. Marie worked at A.M.P.I., enjoyed baking at the Lake Koronis Assembly Grounds, while continuing to work at the Paynesville School Kitchen.
Marie shared herself by being involved in the Grace United Methodist Church; teaching Sunday School, was a youth group leader, a member of the Martha Circle and was on the flower committee for many years. Marie was a very strong woman in her faith in God. She touched her world with a gentle hand by showing kindness to many people. She made beautiful quilts and baked wonderful bread and donuts. She was always willing to share the beauty from her flower garden that she so loved. Sending love and prayers to her family and friends gave her much happiness. Marie was an amazing cook and always had the coffee pot on to welcome you.
Her love will live on in her family and the world she was devoted to.
Marie is survived by her daughters DeVona Thompson (Willard) and Janice Krupke Durkin (Joe), four grandchildren: Michael Thompson (Shari), Amy Thompson-Johnson (Dallas), Jase Durkin, and Travis Durkin (Heather), four great grandchildren Austin and Avalon Johnson and Sydney and Dylan Durkin and brother Harold Voss.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Wally, four brothers and three sisters.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
