January 22, 1941 – April 3, 2011

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Kenneth R. Reber, 70 of Sauk Rapids who passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Eberhard Schefers and Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB will concelebrate. Burial with military honors will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Sauk Rapids VFW Post #6992 Men’s Auxiliary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.
Ken was born on January 22, 1941 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to Frank and Marie (Dobmeier) Reber. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Ken married Ruth L. Lovitz on July 24, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph. The couple lived in St. Anthony Village from 1965 until moving to Sauk Rapids in 2006. He was employed as an Ironworker for Local #512 from 1965 until 1989 and later he was employed by Guy Metals until his retirement in 2006. Ken loved his family, wildlife, people and valued his friendships. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Rice Sportsman Club, Sauk Rapids Sportsman Club, Sauk Rapids VFW #6992 Men’s Auxiliary, St. Joseph American Legion, St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622, NRA and Ducks Unlimited.
Ken is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Vicki (Christopher) Stoeckel of Foley and Melissa Reber (Alton Dunkley) of St. Anthony Village; granddaughters, Tessa, Kayla and Leela Stoeckel; brothers, Donald (Irene), Dennis (Kay), James (Carol Kummer); sisters, Bernice Parker and Judi Mihan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred and Albert; sisters, Marion Kelly, Muriel (Johnson) Kelly, Carol Schneider and Dorothy Scheil.
We would like to thank the staff of Coborn’s Cancer Center, St. Cloud Hospital Oncology Unit and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for his medical care and their compassion.

I plan on being in Minnesota in June of 2011. I’d like to visit with my family and Ruth and their family while there. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
