Hildegard C. Niewind

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at
St. Agnes Catholic Church in Roscoe for Hildegard C. Niewind, age 84,
of Roscoe who passed away April 29, 2008 at her home. Burial will
take place in St. Agnes Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at the
Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville. St. Agnes Christian
Mothers and Catholic Aid will pray at 5 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on
Saturday at the church in Roscoe.

Hildegard was born October 19, 1923 in Richmond, MN to Joseph and
Catherine (Mandernach) Middendorf. She grew up in the Richmond area.
She married Florenz Niewind on June 30, 1947 at St. Agnes Catholic
Church in Roscoe. They farmed on the family farm near Roscoe until
retirement in 1987. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and
Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed going fishing with her friends, raising chickens, quilting
with the neighborhood ladies, flower gardening and spending time with
her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Hildegard is survived by her children Sharon (Richard) Bengtson of
Paynesville, Art (Elaine) Niewind of Paynesville and Janice (Michael)
Rothstein of Cold Spring, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,
sister Magdalen Mehr of Sauk Rapids and brothers Ben Middendorf of St.
Cloud and Ray Middendorf of St. Cloud.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Florenz (1993),
infant grandson, brothers Othmar, Richard, Alex, James and Norbert
Middendorf and sisters Mary Ann Mackedanz and Erma Willing.
