Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Peace United Church of Christ in St. Cloud, for Francis J. Reimer, CPL who died December 12, 1950 (KIA) in Korea. The Reverend Hal Spahn will officiate. Burial will take place in North Star Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, September 7 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Francis was born November 26, 1932 in St. Cloud to Julius A. and Frances M. (Glasner) Reimer. He attended Central Junior and Tech High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1949 and was lost at the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea in December of 1950.
Francis is survived by his sisters Rose Gronau of St. Cloud, Jean Newton of Fayetteville, NC and Gail Tenvoorde of St. Cloud, brother James Reimer of Sauk Rapids, 21 nieces and nephews and 49 great nieces and nephews and other relatives.
His parents Julius A. (1969) and Frances M. (2001), and brothers Julius H. (2004) and Thomas F. (2003) have passed away.
Memorials are preferred.
