Elsie M. Brown (Pfannenstein)

January 17, 1931 – February 23, 2012

A memorial service celebrating the life of Elsie M. Brown (Pfannenstein), 81, of St. Cloud, will be held at the Good Shepherd Community Chapel in Sauk Rapids at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 3. Elsie passed away on February 23, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Cottages. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday at the Good Shepherd Chapel. The Reverend Ronald Weyrens will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Waite Park.
Elsie was born on January 17, 1931, in St. Cloud, to John and Margaret (Philippi) Pfannenstein. She enjoyed playing cards, working in the garden, bingo, and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by: children, Debbie (Gary) Stevenson of Annandale, Connie (Jerry) Chapman of Buffalo, Pam (Tom) Gaddis of Prior Lake, Mike (Jane) Torborg of Rice, Tim (Dawn) Brown of St. James, and Christine Heid of St. Cloud, Barb (Bill) Fischer of Tucson, AZ; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; 4 brothers; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Melvin “Hoopi” Pfannenstein.

Grandma… You are missed dearly. I have so many fun memories of you i will cherish always! I can’t believe you are gone, but i know you are in a better place and pain free. You are a strong couragous women who put up one hell of a fight, expecially these last few weeks. We are so happy that you got to meet your great grandkids. I know you are watching over us until we see each other again.I hope that heaven has alot of kings in the corner,green jello with marshmallos, Burger king and a giant laundry room with the WILDEST treasures your heart desires. Oh Elsie…I am so glad that you are in gods hands letting him hold you tight…of course you will be missed very, very much…we all know that you in shear peace and paradise !!! Grandmammy, so much to say about you, but I’ll keep it short because you know how much I love you and how important you are to me. You were wonderful, strong, beautiful, passionate, silly, loving, wild, caring, and the list could go on and on. Your smile is contagious, so you can be sure that I will think about you everyday. You have put up quite the fight over the years, especially these last few days, You have shown amazing courage that I hope continues to stay with you in Heaven. I am so proud of you and I hope you know that you will never ever be forgotten. You have touched so many of our hearts, and impacted so many lives. I never really thought about what it would be like with you around, but I know you’ll be watching down on us, or at least you better!
