The photo of Eleanora could just as well be of my mother – they were second cousins. The resemblance is astonishing!!

November 19, 1916 – April 8, 2007

Eleanora Amanda Wimmer, age 90, of Paynesville, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday morning, April 8, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial will take place in the St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Paynesville. Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Arrangements were made with the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.
Eleanora was born on November 19, 1916 to Ole B. and Inga (Siverson) Olsen. She and her husband John H. Wimmer raised their family of three in the Paynesville area. Eleanora was a dedicated homemaker and also worked for the Paynesville Area School District for many years in food service. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Paynesville American Legion Auxiliary.
Eleanora was an avid gardener, loved to fish, a talented and self-taught musician, and one of the pioneer builders/supporters of the Paynesville Area Senior Center. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, her love and dedication to her family, and the sharing of her many creative talents.
Eleanora is survived by her children, Patricia (Roger) Shay of Watertown, MN, Constance (Mike) Heffernan of North Port, Alabama and John B. (Connie) of Paynesville, and two grandchildren Amy and Michael.
Preceding her in death are: her parents, husband John H. Wimmer (1989), two sisters Olga and Melinda and five brothers Clifford, Reinhardt, Selmer, Elton and Arnold.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Belgrade Nursing Home for their loving care of Eleanora during her stay at the nursing home.
