Edgar A. Stock

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2006 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Edgar A. Stock, age 81, of St. Cloud who died peacefully on Wednesday at his home from natural causes. Reverend Luke Steiner, OSB will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud with full military honors.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, December 17 and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. The East Side VFW Post 4847 will pray at 6 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7 p.m.

Edgar was born March 1, 1925 in St. Wendel Township, Stearns County to Joseph and Johanna (Scherer) Stock. He served in the U.S. Army as a M.P. in Germany during WWII. He married Dorothy Rose Traut on July 20, 1948 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in St. Stephen. He lived in the St. Cloud area all of his life. He was employed by the City of St. Cloud Park Department and later by St. Regis/Champion International Paper Company at the Sartell Mill. He retired in 1988. He was a lifetime member of the East Side VFW Post 4847, and member of American Legion Post 76, Union Local 274 and St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.

Edgar is survived by his: children Sandra (John) Krebsbach of Sauk Rapids, Jeanne (Ron) Rausch of Sauk Rapids, Daniel (Deb) Stock of Sartell, Deborah Stock of St. Cloud, Mary (Robert) Neumann of Sartell, Jennifer (Jeff) Huebner of Red Wing, Christopher Stock of Sartell and Kathleen (Paul) Pilosi of Minnetonka, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren (with two more on the way), brothers and sisters Wilfred Stock of St. Cloud, Marie Krebsbach of St. Joseph, Joan Fuchs of Cold Spring, Alice Lauer of Sartell, Gilbert “Gib” Stock of St. Joseph, Irene Pierskalla of Willmar, Richard Stock of St. Joseph, Charles Stock of St. Cloud, Arlene Brinker of St. Joseph and Doris Johnson of St. Joseph. Edgar also leaves behind long time companion Vivian Schulte of St. Cloud.

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Dorothy (March 14, 1979), great grandchildren Danielle Johnson and Jonathan Sanchez, and brothers Sylvan and Leander.

Edgar will be remembered as a loving and dedicated father, grandfather and friend.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
