Lauren M. Rice

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater for Lauren M. Rice, age 76, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at her home. Reverend Dennis Backer will officiate. Luncheon to follow at Clearwater American Legion. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater. Burial of the urn will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Clearwater.

Lauren was born on April 4, 1948 in Belcourt, ND to Rose (Poitra) Maness and Anthony Morin. She grew up in Clearwater, MN and married Eric Rice on November 21, 1979. She spent most of her life working in social work or nursing, retiring from the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud in 2011.

Lauren was known for her warm smile, quick wit, and joy she spread to everyone that knew her. She loved time with her family and friends and had a unique way of making everyone feel special. She loved to bake, play BINGO, and sing, and will be remembered by many for her rendition of Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by Your Man”.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Eric; daughters, Dena Mostoller of St. Cloud; Heather (Kario) Brooks of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Amber, Luke, Logan, Hunter (Jasmine), Farrah; great grandchildren, Rozaria, Lorenté, Greyson and Talia; sister, Arleta (Arne) Berg; and extended family and friends.

Lauren was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and extended family.
