Ginnie was born on June 30, 1921 in Sartell, Minnesota to the late Mathias and Julia (Rudie) DeZurik. She was raised in Sartell alongside three brothers and she graduated from Sauk Rapids High School. She married Lawrence F. “Larry” Studer on July 6, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, lived all of her life in Sartell and raised three children. Ginnie aspired to be an artist at an early age, discovering also that she had a talent for writing. She pursued both venues throughout her whole life. She painted using oils, acrylics, pen and ink, water colors and pencils. Many of her paintings now hang in many homes in the area.
After her husband Larry had his first heart attack, she opened her business “Ginnie’s House of Antiques” and also began preserving bridal bouquets which she did for over 40 years. Ginnie was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and was instrumental in helping to establish the church. She was also a charter member and the first president of St. Monica’s Christian Women. Ginnie was a member of the St. Cloud Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and her flower gardens were well known throughout the area. Ginnie also was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at Country Manor Nursing Home.
Ginnie is survived by her children, Douglas (Gretchen) of Huron, Ohio, Linda Bilsky of Sartell, Deborah (Melvin) Pender of Smyrna, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Larry in 2002; her parents; brothers, David, Laurence and Raymond DeZurik; and infant brother, Roman DeZurik.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Poor Clare Monastery in Sauk Rapids.

Fond memories of Aunt Ginnie and Uncle Larry. What a talented lady. Time will heal the hurt but the memories remain.

What a remarkable Christian Life!
Aunt Virgina was an avid Catholic and sought to bring souls to Christ until she breathed her last. I was fortunate to get to know her in greater depth while researching the DeZurik Geneology prior to going to Czechoslovakia in 1991. She was an inspiring witness to Christ for myself and family through the peaks and valleys of our lives.

Losing someone we love is nothing easy. Take comfort and feel blessed to have been able to share in Ginnie’s life before she went to rest in eternal salvation. Our condolences (Gina, Lyle, Leslie, Bill, Dean).
