Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Victor A. Heitzman, age 79, of St. Cloud who passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Alfred Stangl will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday all at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Vic was born on December 2, 1935 in Holdingford, Minnesota to Frank and Caroline (Gerads) Heitzman. He married Shelby Reinke on January 23, 1954 in Sauk Centre. Vic worked for the Pearson Family for over 25 years at Plaza Buick and Pleasure Land RV. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Eagles Aerie #622.
Vic enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, and Buick Cars. He especially loved all the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shelby of St. Cloud; children, Bruce (Sue) Heitzman, Dale (Virgie) Heitzman, Linda Barrett, Dean (Shari) Heitzman, Todd (Sue) Heitzman all of St. Cloud, and Debra Kruchten of St. Augusta; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two on the way; brother and sister, Leo (Charlotte) of Maple Grove, Lucille (Tom) Stangler of Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Scott in 2013; brothers, Clarence and Donald; and a son-in-law, William Barrett.
A Special Thank You to the Staff at Quiet Oaks for all the care and support given to Vic and his family during his illness.
