I Wish I Stayed I wish I stayed and held your hand Until the very end. I watched you sleep so peacefully and thought I'd see you again. You died alone that Saturday morn with no one by your side. I was so far away from you and it hurts so much inside. I wish I stayed and held your hand so you weren't alone. And put my arm around you until God called you home. So I'll take your spirit to a place you always wanted to go. And ask you to forgive me for ever saying no. I know you'd say “play a slot for me” I'll smile and say “this one's on me”. I'll never hear your voice or see your face again. I wish I stayed by your side until the very end.
