Shirley was born on March 4, 1938, the daughter of Joseph H. and Elda M. (Heinn) Ellingsworth at St. Paul, MN. She grew up in St. Paul, and was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Seymour on August 1, 1955. Shirley went to Mechanical Arts School, worked at Montgomery Ward during Christmas Season in St. Paul, and was a cleaning lady in Stillwater, St. Cloud and the Brainerd Area. She was also a Nanny, and mother to our friends. Shirley loved to garden, feed the birds, liked all animals, and loved to watch God’s creations, especially sunsets.

Shirley happily flew home into the arms of God and was reunited with her husband Kenneth and son Jeffery, in addition to her parents.

She is survived by one daughter Teri Seymour, and one son John Seymour (Connie Popp), uncle Alec (Jill) Heinn, aunt Irene Hanson, adoptive grandchildren Blake, Loren, Jesse and Halley and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dear Teri and John, please know that your mom (Aunt Shirley) will be missed by all her family and friends. We are praying that our Lord and Saviour will give you the strength and courage to receive the grace of the Holy Spirit at this time and the days ahead! You and John will be in our prayers! As it says in the scriptures ” Jesus said, that He is the Resurrection and the Life and he who believes in me though he die will live forever.” This is our hope! Love you! John and Tricia Hammer

Shirley was a “Mommy and Grandma” to my family. My son and I lived across the street from the Seymour’s for many years and my brother still lives just down the street. Shirley, Kenny, Terri, and John were guiding lights in our families lives. Shirley was Brandon’s after school nanny and adopted grandma and Kenny his grandpa. From Cooking to fishing and some life lessons, Brandon loved them both dearly. Shirley always thought it was amazing how her and Brandon shared a birthday and so much more. We will miss her so much! God bless the family and our prayers and thoughts are with you today and always…..

Your mother was an amazing lady who brought many of smiles to my life. We spent hours in the summer talking about flowers and animals. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time.

Shirley was a “Mommy friend” to me for 27 years plus. We spoke on the phone everyday until she became ill and moved back to St. Paul. Her husband Kenny was an adopted family member as well. She loved my growing family into adulthood including her special relationship with our family pets. Her last special pet friend was “Sadie” my Yellow Lab who often visited their household and shared Shirley’s French fries which she fed her one by one. The Seymours had two cats which were apart of their family plus neighbors who shared casual pontoon rides and BBQ’s with them. Thank you John and Teri for sharing your parents with me for all of these years.
