Salomie "Sally" T. Braiedy

November 17, 1919 – August 11, 2014

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN for Salomie Theresa Braiedy, age 94 of St. Cloud. She died on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Reverend Thomas Knoblach will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Sally was born on November 17, 1919 in Two Rivers Township, Morrison County, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Mary (Masog) Fussy. She grew up and attended country school District #59 in Two Rivers Township. She graduated with the class of 1938 from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud.

She was united in marriage to Darrell “Red” Braiedy on October 27, 1939 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in St. Paul, MN. Six children were born to this union. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children and going to church. She worked at Vision Ease Optical for 24 years, first as an assembler and later as an inspector. After Red died on August 4, 1983, Sally continued to make her home in St. Cloud.

She was a long time member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church, where she was a very active volunteer. She had a passion for playing cards and loved the game 500, which she played this past week. Sally enjoyed various activities and clubs. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Sally is survived by five children, Marvil (John) Beauchamp of St. Cloud, William (Cheryl) Braiedy of Princeton, MN, Diane Landgraf of Mesa, AZ, Sharon Braiedy of St. Cloud, MN, and Kathleen (Dean) Spike of Annandale, MN, one son-in-law, Lloyd Dresow of Apple Valley, MN, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen Dresow, three sisters, Emily Bednar, Dorothy Swanson, and Margaret Waletski, and four brothers, Roman, Joseph, Theophil, and Ralph Fussy.

Memorials are preferred to St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
