Roy A. Gossell

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church for Roy A. Gossell, age 78, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at his home. The Reverend LeRoy Scheierl will officiate. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Roy was born on May 1, 1938 to John and Agnes (Claseman) Gossell in Long Prairie, MN. He married Joann Buhl on July 21, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Browerville, MN. He graduated from Long Prairie High School and attended college at Oregon State University. He began his career as a printer for Hart Press in Long Prairie and eventually ended his career with Kenning Outsource in St. Cloud. Roy also had a special love for farming, often helping family and friends with field work at their farms.
Roy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. Roy also enjoyed fishing for walleye and salmon, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and playing cards, especially 500 and cribbage. He was an avid Vikings, Twins, and NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Joann, of 57 years; children, David (Joan) of New Hope, Lori (David) Geddes, of Plymouth, Tim (Rochelle) of New Hope, Joel of Bloomington; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; sister, Joan (Marvin) Drevlow of Long Prairie and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Brever and Jeanette Woeste.
