Rose A. "Rosie" Waltzing

February 17, 1929 – March 7, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Rose A. “Rosie” Waltzing, age 88 of St. Cloud who passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the Church. Parish Prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rosie was born on February 17, 1929 in St. Cloud to Linus and Mary (Paul) Imholte. She married William Waltzing on November 26, 1945 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. She lived most of her life in St. Cloud. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Catholic United Financial, Christian Women, Daughters of Isabella, Charter member of Eagles Aerie #622 Auxiliary, the St. Cloud V.F.W. Post #428 Auxiliary, American Legion Unit #428 Auxiliary, 40 et 8 Cabane and Metro Vets. Rosie volunteered at Friends of the Library and at the V.A. Hospital in the clothing room.
Rosie enjoyed word search, journalizing, socializing, volunteering, collecting dolls and was well known for her hugs; she was the “Queen of Hugs.”
She is survived by her children, Mary Busch, St. Cloud, Shirley Sova, St. Cloud; Tony Watlzing, Puyallup WA, Natlaie Cowley, Van Buren, AR; grandchildren, Paula Waltzing Alvarez, Paul “Tito” (Andrea) Waltzing, Erika (Adrian) Waltzing Alvarez, Mark (Fiancée, Meghann) Busch, Michael Busch, Michelle Busch, Clint (Lindsey) Sova, Angelique (Ryan) Murray, Robert (Lauren) Waltzing, Amanda Cowley; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Moore, CA; daughters-in-law, Carmen Waltzing; former daughter-in-law, Hannelore Waltzing; and many nieces and nephews.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, William (2007), sons, Mark (1965), and Paul (2001); grandchildren, Craig Sova (1979), and Shawn Cowley (1986); sister, Beatrice; and brother, Richard Imholte; son-in-law’s, John Busch, Ron Cowley and James Sova.
Rosie’s family would like to thank the St. Cloud Hospital ICU Unit for their compassionate care, especially Dain.

I am so sorry to hear about grandma the news took me by surprise, it did not it expect this at all I am very sad that I could not be there and be able to say good bye because of the distance being in a different country but even though now I know she will be in a better place, with Love Paula and Family

So sad to hear of Grandma’s passing, she was an amazing woman of many qualities and will be greatly missed..

Rosie was one special lady! It was an honor to work with her for many events associated with the Eagles 622. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. My sympathies to you, her treasured family and my regrets that I am unable to attend her funeral. God bless you all in your loss of such a beautiful woman.

So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She would always tell me I was her adopted daughter. Such kind, caring,person. Please except my sympathy.

Natalie, and all of your family. My heart goes out to all of you. Your Mom was a wonderful lady who devoted so much of her time to others to make their lives better and the world a better place. She will be greatly missed by many but never forgotten. May she rest now in peace.
