A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11-1 p.m. until a closing prayer service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 14th at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  Private, family entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery mausoleum in St Cloud. 
Patricia “Patt” Gaida, age 71 of St. Cloud, MN passed away peacefully this Monday morning in the arms of her close, loving family members at St. Cloud Hospital.
Patt was born in Duluth, MN on March 1st, 1947, to Urban and Frances (Kaneski) Gaida.   She graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud.  Patt married her husband, Robert “Bob” Johannes, in 1968. They raised two children, Victoria Anne Johannes and Eric Robert Johannes, in Corcoran, MN.
Patt taught CCD religion class for children at St. Thomas in Corcoran and St.Walburga in Fletcher, MN. She worked part time as a Certified Registered Dental Assistant. Over the years she was also employed at Gaida’s Sausage House, Corrigan Pharmacy, Dayton’s and she bought and sold antiques.
Patt returned to college in the early 1990’s and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Comprehensive Art at St. Cloud State University.  She moved to St. Cloud, where she lived the remainder of her life.  She enjoyed going to movies, traveling, watching the Minnesota Wild, appreciating art, playing games, and feeding and watching birds.  She loved trees, flowers and nature and was an avid photographer. Patt thoroughly enjoyed vacationing on Sanibel Island, FL with her family. Stooping for seashells on the shoreline and sitting in the sand shelling with her beloved family gave Patt a great source of enjoyment for many years.
Patt was a loving and spiritual person who adored her children, grandchildren, closest friends and family.
Patt is survived by her loving children Victoria (Mark Vatland) Johannes of Becker and Eric (Jill) of White Bear Lake; grandchildren Lukas D. Schmitz, Cecelia J. Schmitz, Matthew R. Johannes, Benjamin U. Johannes, Elliot L. Johannes and Milo A. Johannes; siblings, Steve Gaida, Mariane (Andi) Hoehn and Mark Gaida; and nieces and nephews Joely Wertz, Bryce Gaida, Allysa Hoehn and Jayde Hoehn.
Patt was preceded in death by her parents, Urban and Fran; infant sister, Kathleen Anne; former husband, Robert Johannes; and dear cousin and friend, Linda Bates.
