Mildred V. "Millie" Burnett
May 4, 1928 – June 10, 2015
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 15th, at 12 Noon at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for Mildred V. “Millie” Burnett, age 87, of Sartell, formerly of Cold Spring, who died on Wednesday at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her loving family at her side. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday between 4:00-7:00 PM at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and on Monday one hour prior to services at the Church.
Mildred was born May 4th, 1928 in St. Cloud to Lawrence and Mary (Flanagan) Johnson. She married Jerome Burnett on June 6th, 1950 in St. Cloud. Millie taught school for many years, beginning her career in various one room schools in Central Minnesota. She also taught at McKinley School in Waite Park and at St. Peter’s Grade School in St. Cloud. She was very politically active her entire life. Millie was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her children, Mary Davis (John) St. Joseph, Susan Burnett-Pick (Ed) Sartell, Robert Burnett (Diane) St. Cloud, and Tim Burnett (Kim) Cold Spring, 2 grandchildren, Devan and Graham Burnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerome, May 15, 2006, five brothers and one sister.
