Michael J. Dockendorf

June 24, 1951 – November 15, 2016

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in St. Cloud for Michael J. Dockendorf, age 65, of St. Cloud who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Monday at the Church.

Mike was born on June 24, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jack and Marcella (Netter) Dockendorf. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School. He was a husband and loving partner to Wanda (Koshiol), his wife of 44 years. They were married on April 15, 1972, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Mike began his career 45 years ago as a Toyota automobile and Suzuki motorcycle dealer. He was currently serving as President of St. Cloud Toyota. He served as President of the Minnesota Automobile Dealer Association and has served on many auto-related boards and associations throughout the years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Mike was a proud father to his two daughters and a doting Papa to his four grandchildren. He was a man of integrity, known as caring and trustworthy. He was admired for his strong work ethic, organizational skills and positive attitude. Mike treasured family lake time up North, motorcycles, traveling, Friday date nights and the theater. He will be forever missed!

Surviving to honor his memory are his wife, Wanda; daughters, Angela (Brent) Baumgartner of Savage, Lisa (Matt) Laubach of Sartell; grandchildren, Lauren and Luke Baumgartner, Taylor and Jacob Laubach; parents, Jack and Marcella Dockendorf of St. Cloud; brothers and sister, Joe (Carol) Dockendorf of St. Cloud, Janyce Blenkush (Gary Scheeler) of Brainerd, Jim (Colleen) Dockendorf of Chanhassen, Dan (Julie) Dockendorf of St. Joseph, John (Yvette) Dockendorf of St. Stephen; mother-in-law, Marion Koshiol; extended family, and cherished friends, as well as all of those he considered “family” at St. Cloud Toyota.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gerald Koshiol; and niece, Ashley Dockendorf.

To continue Mike’s generous spirit of giving, memorials received will be distributed among those organizations closest to his heart.
