May 5, 1967 – November 17, 2016

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for Michael A. Moores, age 49, of St. Cloud and Daytona Beach, FL who passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his Florida home. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Private interment will take place at a later date.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the Church.

Mike was born on May 5, 1967 in Osseo, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1985. He began working for the family business, JM Oil Company, at the age of 12, eventually becoming President and CEO and majority owner of the company. Mike was known for being fearless, determined, caring and the life of the party. He was passionate about everything, especially all things racing, Shelby Mustangs, motorcycles, golf, cribbage, Mexican food, homemade tomato juice and his beloved Australian cattle dog, Ninya.

He is survived by his son Colby Moores, parents Jim (Becky) Moores and Margaret (Bill) Kanuit, sisters Kathie (Paul) Cisek and Kari (Kal) Bedford, step-siblings Jason Rubink, Jenny (Joel) Potocnik, and Ryan (Leah) Rubink, nieces Grace Cisek, Emma Cisek, Lily Cisek, Cate Duffey, Briana Potocnik, Danielle Potocnik, Kalli Rubink, and Emma Rubink, nephews Matthew Rubink and Aiden Marin, many other relatives, and countless friends. The family would like to give special recognition to Mike’s business partner of 20 years, Brian Laudenbach, and his “brothers” Tim McKenzie of St. Cloud and Todd Sniezek of Daytona Beach.

Mike, You lived the phrase, ” Live life to the fullest.” Not many do. I will cherish the many fun memories I have of you and was heart broken to hear of your sudden passing. Such a larger than life personality, it is hard to believe you are gone. There will never be another like you! You will be missed. RIP
