Mary E. Gotschy

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary E. Gotschy, 88, of St. Cloud will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Mary passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Mary was born on June 21, 1929 in Perham, Minnesota to the late Thomas and Julia (Kaluza) Lucas. The family moved to St. Cloud during Mary’s childhood. She married Bernard P. Gotschy on November 27, 1952 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud and lived all of her life in St. Cloud. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was employed as a waitress for many years. She also was a proud Avon Lady for 50 years. She was a charter member of St. Peter’s Parish and a member of the church choir for 45 years.

Mary loved her grandchildren and treasured spending time with them above all. She also enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, playing bingo and singing.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Leigh) of St. Joseph, Kathy (Rodney) Theisen of Sauk Rapids, Carol (Dale) Bidinger of Sartell, Joan (Ron) Schoonover of St. Cloud; eleven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and brother, Don (Ruth) Lucas of Maple Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Bernard in 1980; daughter, Doreen Gotschy; and eleven siblings.

Memorials are preferred.
