Marvyl L. Johnson

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 20th at 2:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, for Marvyl L. Johnson, age 88, of St. Cloud, who died on Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev Marlene Elmstrom will officiate. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral arrangements are being made with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Marvyl was born July 8th, 1928 in Belgrade to Andrew and Martha (Freese) Gunderson. She has been a resident of St. Cloud since she was 18. Marvyl was employed as a sales clerk for Stevenson’s Department Store in St. Cloud for over 30 years. She was a member Salem Lutheran Church.

Marvyl was active at Salem Lutheran church where she volunteered. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Lauer (Bob Anderson) St. Cloud, and Brenda Kockler (Brian) St. Cloud, 4 grandchildren, Heather Dubuque, Brad Lauer (Nicole Lewellyn), Nicole Kockler (John Hayes), and Christopher Kockler (Janna), 3 great-grandchildren, Brenden Steinemann, Payge Dubuque and Lillian Kockler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Vivian, and two infant siblings and son-in-law Thomas Lauer.

The family would especially like to thank her caregivers Laura and Christine.
