Marie M. Jansen

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marie M. Jansen, 93, of Sartell and formerly of Rice will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Marie passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. Reverend Timothy Baltes will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.

Family and friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Gathering Space in Sartell. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. and the St. Monica’s Christian Women will immediately follow on Tuesday in the gathering space. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, Sartell.

Marie was born on September 9, 1921 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to the late Bernard and Johanna (Gottwald) Jaeger. She married Harold M. Jansen on May 2, 1944 at St. Margaret‘s Catholic Church in Lake Henry and they lived in St. Cloud until 1955 when they moved to rural Rice. After raising her children, Marie was employed as a kitchen aide for Sartell School District #748. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and St Monica’s Christian Women.

Marie enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting, playing bingo, cards and casino trips.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Sheila) of New York, David of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Jane (Larry) Legatt of St. Joseph, Millie Leone of Apple Valley, Rose (Glenn) Stocker of St. Cloud; five grandchildren, Anita, Lisa (Mike), Chris, Erin (Cory), Jessica (Chris); and three great grandchildren, Jessica, Caitlin and Jordyn; and three sisters, Sylvia Bauer, Rosina Welters and Armella (Donald) Wall

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2012; and infant daughter, Bonnie.
