Lois V. Lorentzen

November 26, 1920 – January 8, 2018

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Nordland Lutheran Church in rural Paynesville for Lois V. Lorentzen, age 97, of Paynesville. Lois passed away January 8, 2018 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial of cremated remains will take place in the Nordland Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Lois was born in rural Hawick on November 26, 1920 to John “Robert” and Anna “Alice” (Swenson) Lovander. She married Arleigh Lorentzen on August 6, 1946 at her parent’s home. She was an exemplary teacher at Champlin Elementary School for 28 years. Her family were founding members of Nordland Lutheran Church.
Lois is survived by her daughter Kay Lorentzen of Anoka, grandson Kent Thomas, three great grandchildren and sister Ruth Hoiseth.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Arleigh, son Kent, and siblings Lorraine Peterson, Elroy Lovander and Marion Olson.

I am going to be 69 years old this year and I still remember Mrs. Lorentzen as my favorite teacher.

I’m so sorry for your loss Kay. I have such good memories of your mother when the Lovander and Andrews families were together at Elroy and Violet’s.

You were a shining star as a teacher.
