LeRoy E. "Lee" Richter

September 22, 1921 – October 19, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of LeRoy E. “Lee” Richter, 93, of St. Cloud, will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 23, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Lee died October 19, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, and from 9:30-10:30 AM on Thursday at the Church. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at 2:00 PM on Friday, Oct 24. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Lee was born on September 22, 1921 in St. Cloud to Frederick and Margaret (Rassier) Richter. He served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942-1946, and during the Korean Conflict in 1951. He married Genevieve Graf on Feb. 26, 1943 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. He was employed by NSP, retiring in 1983. Lee was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, the St. Cloud Antique Auto Club, VFW Post #428, Eagles Aerie #622, and the Knights of Columbus. Lee enjoyed hunting, traveling, bowling, and old cars.
Lee is survived by: children, Thomas (Sachiko) of St. Cloud, Kathleen (Gary) Vossen of Willmar, Larry of Clearwater, Gene (Karen) of St. Cloud, Steven (Dina) of Hastings; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother Daniel (Barbara) of White Bear Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Genevieve, son David, and great granddaughter Kendra Kleven.

I have so many happy memories of spending time at each other’s homes when we were growing up….. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like so long ago. Please accept my deepest sympathy and respect for your dad. I truly know he was a good father. Hold tight to your dearest memories, I know how much you will miss him….and keep your love for him in your hearts forever.

Lee, We have done a lot of things together in the 70 some years, now I have wonderful memories of them,

The world has lost a true “gentle” man. Lee was very kind and welcoming to everyone who came into his life. I have had the privlege of knowing Lee for the past 40 years through Gene & Karen. He will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

My deepest sympathy to my kidhood neighbors: Tom, Kathy, Larry, Gene and Steve.

Alway wach over and protect everyone and don’t forget to take grandma her for a ride in the Hudson. Love you and miss you.
