Kenneth M. Nathe

October 8, 1933 – November 23, 2014

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in St. Stephen for Kenneth M. Nathe, 81, of St. Stephen, who died November 23, 2014. The Reverend Robert Harren will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Parish Hall in St. Stephen. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Ken was born on October 8, 1933, in Sauk Centre to Albert and Margaret (Mies) Nathe. He attended school and graduated from Paynesville High School. He worked on the ore boats for five years, and joined the Army, serving from 1954-1956. He married Barbara Arnold at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley on May 11, 1957. Ken worked at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud for 34 years. In addition, he also farmed with his brother Everett since 1965. He loved being outdoors with his animals and making firewood.
Ken is survived by: his wife Barbara; children, Ken (Doris), Roxanne (Ron) Nordmann, Keith (Jennifer), Kevin (Lori), Ruthann (Gerold) Traut; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Everett, Jim, and sister Lorraine Putzke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dale; great-grandaughter Kendra Bruemmer; and son-in-law Jim Leyendecker.

Special thanks to the VA Medical Center for the special care they provided to Ken during his stay at the Hospital.
