Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Jo Ann Spoden, age 85 of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at her home. Reverend Timothy Gapinski will officiate. Entombment will take place at the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Jo Ann was born April 26, 1930 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Joseph and Mayme (Hengel) Spoden. She was a 1948 graduate of Cathedral High School and later attended Drews Business School in St. Cloud. Jo Ann was employed by Gambrino’s Insurance for three years until 1954 when she was employed as an account clerk by Stearns County Social Services until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish, Christian Women and Aid Group.
Jo Ann is survived by her brother, Marvin of St. Cloud; sister-in-law, Dorothy Spoden of St. Cloud; nieces and nephews, Judy Mosloski, Richard Spoden, Tony Spoden, Gary Spoden, Joyce Schoen, Ralph Spoden, Jim Spoden, Steve Spoden, Yvette Stueve, David Spoden, Jackie Spoden-Bolz, Jeff Spoden, Mark Spoden and Chuck Spoden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John “Bud” and Vernon; one sister, Margaret; sister-in-law, Lorraine Spoden; and her special pet dog, Mandy.
