Jayda was born on October 11, 2007 to Jesse Clark, Jr. and Meca Clegg in Chicago, Illinois. Jayda was a loving daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Though she had many health struggles, she could always be found with a smile on her face. She was a fighter. Jayda was a third grader at Discovery Community Elementary School in Waite Park. She loved going to school to see her friends and teachers. Along with going to school, Jayda loved to listen to music, especially her Toddler Tunes and her big brother’s music. She also enjoyed playing with her light up toys, going shopping, swimming and spending time with her friends. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be especially missed by her long time Personal Care Assistants, Carla Brundell and Sandie Kalla; with whom Jayda was very attached to and loved spending time with.

She is survived by her parents, Jesse Clark, Jr. and Meca Clegg; brothers, Jordan Clegg and Jayden Clark; maternal grandparents, Spencer Nickens and Joyce Clegg; maternal step-grandfather, John Eaves; paternal grandparents, Jesse Brown, Sr.  and Lucy Clark; maternal great-grandfather, John D. Clegg; Personal Care Assistants, Carla Brundell and Sandie (Dave) Kalla; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Anna “Sweet Pea” Clegg and Polly (Spencer) Nickens; paternal great-grandma, Corrine Clark and aunt, Betty Clark.

A special thank you to Carla Brundell and Sandie Kalla for their many years of dedicated service and love to Jayda.

Dear Mecca, Jesse and family. So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with Jayda. It was fun to see what she could do. She always brought a smile to those around her. She had so many friends at school. The kids were drawn to her. She will be missed. Cherish your memories. With Sympathy, Nancy

You have my prayers, you know I love you, and I ask God to give you peace and strength.

Revelation21

And I heard a loud voice from Heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Then “He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”

Revelation 22
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the “Beginning and the End, the First and the Last”.

Psalm 127
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord

Meca,Psalm 27 verse 14 says “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Rest In Peace our little angel. God has called you home to watch over us all.

I know we were planning to meet up (with the kids, hubby & I) through our visit to you & the fam in Minnesota (soon) just to kick it… but time got away from us. Jayda decided she didn’t want to wait for us to visit. It’s still not too late.

Meca, you have been a super fly, awesome, dynamic, superb, STRONG, wonder woman, KNOWLEDGEABLE, ATTENTIVE, exemplary example of a MOMMA who didn’t take NO, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN for an answer. Instead you spoke life into Jayda. You said “IT IS POSSIBLE”, “WE WILL DO IT”, “SHE IS GOING TO ENJOY EVERY DAY”. That, she did. She kicked it like any other child. You loved her through it all. God is very pleased with you. Jesse, Jordan, Jayden were the perfect dad & big brothers for Jayda. Her special needs didn’t define her. Rather, she gave life to her special needs. That’s something to remember forever.

Thanks for allowing me to experience her through your steadfast LOVE & unmoveable position of strength for Jayda. Thanks for our deep talks as parents (of special needs babies), as fam, through facebook, through texts, through phone calls & even through planning her Disney World trip (of which you can still take)…you & the fam need it.

I will never be able to say “I know how you feel” because I don’t. Know that God picked an awesome, most precious flower out of his garden and decided to hold it in his hands and smell the sweetness of Jayda. You know I’m here if & when you need me. I love you & the fam so much. Be blessed. See ya soon

No matter how long they have been with us it is never easy to lose someone we love.
To my beautiful, sweet granddaughter I will forever miss you
Rest in peace princess

Meca, I am so sorry for your loss. Jayda was such a beautiful soul. I’m so happy I had the chance to work with her and your family.

I MISS MY DAUGHTER SO MUCH.. EVERYONE KEEP US IN YR PRAYERS R.I.P MY ANGEL MY PRINCESS MY HEART LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER

While we did not get to enjoy as much time with Jayda as others, through conversations with Meca, Jesse, and Jordan, we knew how much she was loved and cared for and could hear how happy she was and how happy she made others! She was indeed a gift from God who called her home and is now holding her in His loving arms.

Thank you Meca and Jesse for sharing Jayda with me. I love her and your family with my whole heart. She was a gift and I feel privileged to have known her.
