Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 4, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, for Isabelle M. “Isy” Zimmer, 80, of Rockville, who died April 1, 2014. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. The Reverend Jerome Tupa, OSB will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, and from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, both at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Heritage Hall in St. Joseph. The St. Joseph Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 PM and Parish Prayers will be at 5:00 PM on Thursday at the Church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph.
Isabelle was born June 29, 1933, in St. Joseph, MN to Albert and Appolonia (Schmitt) Mueller. She married Joseph Zimmer on June 15, 1954, at St. James Church in Jacobs Prairie, MN. Isy was a homemaker and later worked at St. John’s University as a cook from 1970 – 1993. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed embroidering, playing cards with her family and friends, and gardening. She loved to cook using the bountiful garden harvest they produced every year. She also enjoyed traveling around the US and going to the casino. Isy was a member of the St. Joseph Quilt Group and the St. Joseph Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, Joe; children: Marilyn (Jeff) Cupka of Brooklyn Park, Kathy (LeRoy) Beuning of Avon, David (Kathy) of Royalton, Doris (Ron) Budde of Albany, Chuck (Karen) of Litchfield, Deb (Randy) Lange of St. Cloud; 15 grandchildren; brothers Eugene and Peter; and sister Alice Leyendecker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Ervin, Marcellus, Arnold, Carl, and sister Lucille.
The family would like to thank the CentraCare Hospice, especially Dr. Jurgens, Tom, Lisa, Wanda, Pat, and Syndie, for their outstanding care and support.
Memorials are preferred to CentraCare Hospice.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. (Revelation 21:4) make the promise, where death will be going forever. What a beautiful promise that we all look forward, from our loving Creator, Jehovah God, (Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.
