Frank P. Prokott

June 27, 1927 – August 17, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for Frank P. Prokott, age 88, of Sauk Rapids and formerly of St. Cloud, who passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Timothy Gapinski will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls.

 

Family and friends may call from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Church.

 

Frank was born on June 27, 1927 to Michael, Sr. and Angeline (Witucki) Prokott in Bowlus, MN. He married Deloris “Dee” A. Majeski on June 1st, 1953 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart for his wounds sustained during combat. He was a member of the St. Cloud VFW #428, the Waite Park Silver Star Post #428 and the Eagles Aerie #622. Frank was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

 

 He was a jack of all trades, working for Spencer Kellogg in Minneapolis and later at Polar Manufacturing in Opole, MN, where he eventually retired. He was an excellent handy man; working as a plumber, carpenter, electrician and mason. He was an avid musician, playing the accordion, organ, harmonica and guitar. He enjoyed reading, gardening, hunting, fishing and dancing the Polka. Frank loved to play cribbage, being willing to play with anyone. He had a warm heart, gentle eyes and a smile that could light up a room. He especially enjoyed being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife; children, James (Theresa) Prokott of Brooklyn Park, Patricia (Harvey) Baron of Royalton, Virginia (Robert) Johnson of Sauk Rapids, Debora (Myron) Ertl of St. Joseph, Karen (Thomas) Welle of Clear Lake; brothers, Sylvester and Ignatius; grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Frank is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John, Mark and Mike Prokott, Rosaline Carter, Agnes Burggraff, Veronica Strozyk and  Theresa LaValle.

Dee , children and family of Franks: Our sympathy to all of you at this sad time. May God hold you all gently in His hands and give you comfort in your grieving. Sorry we can’t come for the service, but I will pray for all of you and for Uncle Frank. May he rest in peace and may you always treasure the memories you have of him. They are precious.
