Edwin G. Schmit

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Edwin G. Schmit, 87, of St. Stephen will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in St. Stephen.  Ed passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Harmony House of Little Falls.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Church and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, Sartell. 

Ed was born on October 13, 1930 in St. Stephen to Michael and Margaret (Feien) Schmit.  He was employed as a bus driver for Metro Transit of St. Paul/Minneapolis and retired after 30 years of service.

Ed had a love for old time music and a passion for dance. His love of music gave him the opportunity to learn and play the accordion.  He also treasured his antique cars, which included Model A’s and Model T’s.  He drove his cars to many local shows. Above all, his faith was most important.

He is survived by his son, Michael Jones of Georgia; one granddaughter; brother, Raymond (Arlene) of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Alfred, Adeline Doll and Arnie.

Memorials are preferred.
