Edward C. Wiesner

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud for Edward C. Wiesner, age 85 of St. Cloud who died September 28, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Erica Kennedy will officiate. Interment will take place at North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm. until closing with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Ed was born April 8, 1931 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Richard “Tony” and Evelyn (Korfage) Wiesner. He married Louise Koukal on March 19, 1955 and she died December 12, 1974. Ed married Delores “Dolly” (Kron) Smith on January 15, 1977 at Atonement Lutheran Church. He lived in the St. Cloud area since 1965. Ed obtained his law degree and practiced in Harmony, Minnesota for eight years. He was later employed as a trust officer at St. Cloud National Bank for 28 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and the St. Cloud Lions Club.
Ed enjoyed golf, fishing at the cabin, and cocktail hours with his famous Manhattan Mix, he especially liked spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly; children, Vickie Mersy of Eden Prairie, Diane Wiesner of Riverview, Florida, David Wiesner of Minneapolis, Cindy Wiesner of St. Cloud; step-children, Tom (Joan) Smith of St. Cloud, Sue (Mike) Iten of St. Cloud, Teresa Asleson of Helena, Montana; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Richard of Inver Grove Heights, Lorraine Bangle of Vadnais Heights, Kathleen Wiesner of St. Paul and Carol Livingston of Oakdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Louise; brothers, William and Thomas; and two step-sons, Steve Smith and David Smith; step-daughter, Carol Oltz; and brother-in-law, Jim Bangle.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to CentraCare Health Home Care and Hospice and Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
