Dorothy J. Korman

March 2, 1939 – November 7, 2014

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Dorothy J. Korman, age 75, of St. Augusta, who passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2014 surrounded by her adoring family. Reverend Jose Edayadiyil will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday all at the St. Mary Help of Christian’s Parish Center in St. Augusta. Parish Prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the parish center.

Dorothy was born in Little Falls, Minnesota on March 2, 1939 to Daniel and Bridget (Kroll) Zwack. She was the youngest of fifteen children.  Dorothy graduated from Royalton High School in 1957.  She met the love of her life, Kenneth Korman, at a dance. The two were married in a double ceremony with Dorothy’s sister, Theresa and her husband Jack Blommer, in Royalton on June 14th, 1960.  Dorothy and Ken made their home and raised their family in St. Augusta where she was a member of the St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and Christian Women. 

Dorothy will be remembered for her wisdom, creativity, quick wit and her endlessly loving and generous heart. She created a joyous and festive home in which all would feel welcome and safe, appreciated and loved.

Dorothy is survived by husband, Kenneth; children, Ann of St. Augusta, Lori (Michael) Rick of Portland, Oregon, Paula (Bruce) Derosier of St. Cloud, Kurt (Melissa) of Lake Elmo, Kris of St. Cloud, Tony (Cheri) of Sauk Rapids, Bridget (Loralei Walker) of Olympia, Washington;  son-in-law, Kevin Chopp of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Daniel and Samuel Derosier, Katie and Kwinten Chopp, Quayd and Charley Korman, Benjamin and William Korman; sister, Theresa Blommer of St. Joseph; many nieces and nephews;  and best friend forever, Jeanette  Perleberg.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kateri Chopp; brothers and sisters, John, Ted, Vincent, Clara, Ambrose, Clarence, Lawrence, Richard, Peter, Joseph, Mary Ann Musielewicz, Frank, and Edward.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at St. Cloud Hospital ICU and the Quiet Oaks Hospice House for their care and attention to our beloved mother.
