A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN for Donald Lewis Erickson, age 96 of St. Cloud. He passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Susan Putzke will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the prayer services on Saturday morning at Daniel Funeral Home.

Donald was born on January 12, 1921, in Erdahl, MN the son of Oscar and Rosina (Warden) Erickson. He attended and graduated from Becker High School where he grew up. Don then attended St. Cloud State University for two years prior to enlisting into the United States Navy on July 18, 1942. He served overseas during World War II in both the European Theatre and Pacific Theatre of operations as a Motor Mechanic Mate First Class. He was Honorably Discharge on January 12, 1946.

After returning from the war, he went to work for National Bushing and Parts Company which is now Auto Value from 1946 to 1986. He was united in marriage to Valeria Knettel on January 12, 1955 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen, MN. They lived all their married life in St. Cloud. Over the years, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and traveling with his wife Valeria.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Valeria in 1993, and his one brother Alan.

He is survived by his three children, Gary of Norfolk, VA, Steve of St. Cloud, MN and Lynn (Mitch) Nelson of Fort Myers, FL, two grandchildren Brooke and Brady both of Arvada, CO, other relatives and many friends.
