Cynthia was born on May 12, 1959 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Curtis and Mary Ellen (Brodigan) Hanson. Her family moved to Brainerd in 1968 and she graduated from Brainerd Senior High School in 1977. She had an adventurous spirit and moved to California soon after graduation, eventually calling Calistoga and the Napa Valley home. She returned to Minnesota in 1996 to support her mother who was diagnosed with cancer. She worked as a Paraprofessional helping special needs children in School District 742.

She enjoyed camping, music, and was a lifelong learner with a passion for science, space exploration, metaphysics, natural health and spirituality. She was known to be loving, kind, and generous, putting the needs of others before her own. She had a zest for life and cancer was unable to break her joyous spirit. Cynthia maintained her positive outlook and smile until the end.

She is survived by her father Curt Hanson, Sartell; sisters Carrie (Tim) Tripp, Sartell, Becky (Rick) Swille, Lewisville, TX, Monica (Tim) Hoffman, St. Cloud, Kirsten Hanson, St. Cloud and Corinne (Jim) Dahl, St. Cloud; and 21 nieces and nephews.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother Mary Ellen; grandparents Carl and Eileen Hanson of Moorhead, MN and Nick and Bernice Brodigan of Fargo, ND.

Cynthia and I met through work. She was kind, compassionate, a great listener, and a friend to many. She is gone too soon and will be greatly missed.

Cynthia was a wonderful friend and supporter of my music. Her smile was so welcoming. She will be greatly missed.

Although your hearts are filled with pain and sorrow, my hope is that you gain comfort from God’s promise to reunite us with our loved ones on the earth; never having to say goodbye again. For Jesus will make this earth the problem-free paradise that his Father intended it to be. Revelation 21:4 and John 5:28, 29 holds out these promises to us. I have gained comfort and strength from knowing this, may you and your family do the same.

Cynthia’s ocean blue eyes smiled and made me smile. Cynthia’s calming energy lifted me. Cynthia’s quiet listening taught me. Cynthia’s Spirit will guide me…
