Arthur R. Hessler

March 8, 1924 – November 22, 2016

 Memorial services celebrating the life of Arthur R. Hessler, 92, of Clear Lake will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud. Art passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend James Goodew will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Art was born on March 8, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Arthur P. and Leonore (Guse) Hessler. After high school, Art joined and proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was united in marriage to Laura M. Miller on September 13, 1947 in St. Paul and they moved to St. Cloud in 1956. Art was employed as a Federal Meat Grader for the US Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1983 and moved to Briggs Lake.
Art enjoyed spending time with his family, trap shooting, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and an avid outdoorsman.
Art is survived by his children, Kathy Hessler and Jim (Nadine) Hessler; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hessler; grandchildren; Paul and Patrick Hessler, and Heather Ostlund, David (June), Daniel and Mike Hessler, Kelley (Jason) Murphy; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura; children, Dick Hessler and Laura Hessler; sister, Betty Birch; and brothers, Jim and Bob Hessler.
