March 24, 1918 – April 22, 2015
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Armella M. “Millie” Malikowski, age 97, of St. Cloud who passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend Thomas Knobalch will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Millie was born on March 24, 1918 in St. Nicholas, Minnesota to Nicholas and Margaret (Boeckmann) Stommes. She married Alois J. Malikowski on September 2, 1939 in St. Nicholas. They lived all of their married lives in St. Cloud and raised eight children. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Christian women.
She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Millie loved all the time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn Malikowski of Brainerd, Carol (Robert) Holthaus of Rice, Darlene (Tom) Latuff of Minnetonka, Sharon Hinnenkamp of St. Cloud, Mary (David) Clinton of Wayzata, Rodney (Peggy) of Shoreview, Douglas of Long Lake, Tammy (Don) Trummel of Fairfield, CA; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Rose Ruprecht of Kimball, Evelyn (Dick) Otremba of St. Cloud, and Rita (Rich) Feddema of Sauk Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Al in 1987; brothers and sisters, Ralph, Al, Andrew, Clarence, Joe, Victor, Wilfred, Sr. Mary Alverna, Bill, Lorraine, Marie; and son-in-law, Leon Hinnenkamp in 1994.
A Special Thank You to both St. Benedict’s Senior Community and St. Croix Hospice for all the care and support given to Millie and her family.
Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice in lieu of flowers.
